Davey is a reformed drug addict and alcoholic with a background of organised crime.
After a dramatic life-changing event Davey turned his back on a life of crime and
now uses his past experiences to help others to escape a similar lifestyle. Since
1997 he has worked voluntarily in a wide range of anti-drug/ anti-social programmes
in schools, prisons and youth offenders’ institutions. He went on to run a rehabilitation
centre in the North of England. He has vast experience in the areas of drug/alcohol
rehabilitation as well as counselling and working with dysfunctional families. Over
the years Davey has built an outstanding record of being able to put even the most
challenging lives back on track.
Allan initially trained for Ministry in the Church of England. He then joined the
Inland Revenue where he was assigned to their Training Centre and taught personal
tax before completing a tour of duty as Chief Inspector of Taxes (Claims) Branch
Charity Division, specialising in the taxation of exempt bodies. He was the Inspector
in charge of liaison with the Charity Commission and the Registrar of Friendly Societies,
The Capital Taxes Office and Registrar of Trades Unions.
On leaving the Inland Revenue, Allan joined Peat Marwick Mitchell, (KPMG), becoming
National Director of Charity Taxation. He then joined Coopers and Lybrand, followed
by Binder Hamlyn’s charity unit in London to formulate the charity tax department.
Currently a director of OMNIS TAX Consultancy Ltd, Allan is responsible for the charity
advice, tax and VAT practice of the OMNIS group of firms and advises a number of
charity clients that are household names, as well as small local charities. He mounts
training sessions for trustees and senior charity staff members.

Stuart is a Social Worker with significant expertise in Safeguarding. His current
job role involves working with clients with learning difficulties, mental health
issues and the elderly.
He is also a Practice Educator to students on placement.
Currently employed as Senior Parliamentary Advisor for Ian Lavery MP working between
Wansbeck and Westminster. Trustee of Hirst Welfare Centre, the Wansbeck CVS, Real
Deal Plus and Secretary of Ashington Football Club.
I have lived locally all of my life and am passionate about the community that we
live in. I have been involved with bodies in the community since a young age and
believe that it is important for local people to play a part in making where they
live a better place for everyone. Professionally I have experience in both the private
and public sector working both in customer service and supply chain roles."
We are supported by a dedicated team of volunteers who donate their valuable time
to helping Real Deal Plus at Ashington Life Centre
Arthur has great knowledge and insight in the retail sector. Much of his career
was centred around financial and administration systems and procedures. He worked
as an internal auditor for a high street retail group and also the same role for
an international blue chip company in the vending trade. He has also worked as commercial
administrator for and international firm of consulting engineers. Arthur and his
wife were foster carers for 18 years. He has past experience as a board member of
a charity helping young people.
Arthur is purpose-driven and has a real desire to see people reach their full potential.
